Frequently asked questions
about your Doctor of Business Administration distance-learning program
The GHU × BSN Doctor of Business Administration covers a study period of a minimum of three to a maximum of seven years. The program is divided into two phases and concludes with 180 ECTS (equivalent to 90 US credits). You can study at your own pace alongside your professional career.
The GHU × BSN DBA is an advanced doctoral program that combines Business School Netherlands' Action Learning methodology and international network with Global Humanistic University's degree-awarding authority and ACBSP accreditation. It is designed for senior professionals – managers, directors, executives, consultants and entrepreneurs – who want to conduct applied research directly relevant to their professional context and earn an internationally recognized doctoral qualification without pausing their career.
Applications are submitted 100% online. You will need to upload the following documents: extended curriculum vitae, copy of passport, copies of all academic degrees and transcripts, and a passport photograph. GHU's Academic Registry Office reviews your documents and notifies you of the admission decision within four weeks. BSN accepts new students twice a year – in May and in December.
Admission is granted based on date of binding registration, fulfillment of admission criteria, and appointment of a suitable advisor. BSN screens all advisors in collaboration with GHU before engagement. Since only a limited number of doctoral students can be enrolled per intake, early application is recommended. If your application is rejected due to unmet requirements, no additional fees apply and you are welcome to reapply.
Your research topic is developed in close collaboration with your advisor and must be directly relevant to a real-world business challenge in your professional field. The program follows BSN's Action Learning methodology – meaning your research is applied, practical and immediately relevant to your industry. Possible areas include Finance, Leadership, Sustainable Management, Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility, Public Administration, Health, Energy, Logistics, Real Estate Management, Banking & Insurance, and more.
Yes. The degree is awarded by Global Humanistic University – a licensed university in Anguilla, a British Overseas Territory – and mentions the organizational collaboration with BSN. The diploma reads: "Doctor of Business Administration – GHU in organizational co-operation with BSN." The program is accredited by ACBSP (USA) and AAC (Curaçao). As a BOT, GHU degrees can where required be authenticated through the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in London, providing additional international credibility for graduates worldwide.
