“Climate change is a challenge for mankind. With the climate certificate Blue Planet Certificate, the non-profit nature conservation organization Naturefund is specifically committed to the protection of ecosystems. Intact forests and healthy soils store large quantities of CO2. For Prof. Dr. Radermacher, one of the leading climate researchers, reforestation and humus formation are a central element to climate protection. Naturefund's work has received several awards. Its projects are supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and German Environmental Aid.” (Naturefund, email from: katja.wiese@naturefund.de; 12.04.2019)

The quantity of CO2 emissions that an airplane gives off per passenger for a given flight distance can be precisely calculated. The calculation is based on average consumption data for typical short-haul and long-haul airplanes.

The Global Humanistic University is considerably reducing its carbon footprint by limiting student, staff, and faculty travel through its online and decentralized distance-learning platform. The amount of reduced CO2 emissions can be seen in the meter.

The GHU is proud to be entitled to use this certificate, because of the structure and implementation of the GHU's policies in relation to social, environmental and economic criteria.
